Refurbishment continues on Regional Road No 117, which connects Zarzis to Djerba Island in Tunisia and has gained momentum in the past two months.

The 6.3km stretch, also known as the Roman Road, should see significant advancements by the end of this year, including elevation of the road level, relocation of networks and completion of a 1.8km-long bridge.

The two-lane project is expected to be completed in the second quarter of next year. It will feature 7m-wide lanes that are equipped with central lighting and safety mechanisms barriers, according to a report in EspaceManager.
